The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA)

URISA is a multidisciplinary association where professionals from all parts of the spatial data community come together to share concerns and ideas. The organization is a leading provider of learning, knowledge and professional development for the global GITS community.  URISA is the founding member of the GISP certification program and the institute (GIS Certification Institute) responsible for administering the certification program.
