Aerial Information Systems, Inc. is a minority woman-owned, small business enterprise that specializes in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping and analysis. Founded in 1974, the organization serves the general objective of providing multi-disciplinary databases for use in GIS. Individual staff expertise ranges across the disciplines of geography, geology, soil science, plant ecology, forestry, environmental studies, land planning, photo interpretation, field survey and computer science.
For the past twenty-five years, AIS has worked closely with Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), the authors of ARC/INFO, in the development of GIS standards and procedures.
